UPDATE: I spoke to the vet at the CARE centre (where Bloo will be getting his surgery) and he has agreed to cap the entire surgery and post care meds etc at $5800 for us! Chip in amount has now decreased and we are almost there :-)

OCT 28 UPDATE!!!
We had raised a grand total of $3170 in JUST 3 DAYS thanks to so many amazing people!!!! Bloo was scheduled for his ACL surgery last wednesday and before surgery the specialist had a good look at him again (he was seen by a different vet before surgery) and discovered pain in his shoulder and said he will not do the surgery until we figure that out. His first thoughts were that its joint cancer and said we had to do xrays. After the xrays he found what looked like a tumor in his armpit so we had to do a ultrasound. then they had to take a biopsy of it to test. Turns out it was a reactive lymph node (probably from an earlier case of ehrlicia he had). And after a whopping $900 vet bill he said that surgery is his only option and he will need to get his shoulder fixed.
That adds another $3k to the final surgery costs and I know its crazy but I have to try to raise a bit more!
I obviously could never even think about doing this surgery if I had to pay by myself....but it just may be possible if I can keep "working for Bloo"
His quote came in at $5922 on the low side to $7,088 on the high side. If I can raise $6500 for his surgery then he has a chance!!!!!

Help! Will work for Bloo!!Dear Friends,For those of you lucky enough to know my dog Bloo(pure bred Potcake) know that Bloo has gone through some tough times in his 5years of life. He was found at about 3 months old barely alive in the streetsof Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands (where we live). He was so full ofmange that you could not see what color his fur was. He was a sickly straypuppy that would not have made it very much longer in the brutal wild. Anamazing lady found him and brought him to the vet where he was then rescued byPotcake Place K9 Rescue (thanks Jane and Mark!!) and received loads of medicalcare, vaccinations and A LOT of TLC. Shortly after his rescue I was lucky enough to adopthim I have been blessed with the worlds best dog ever since. About a year ago Ifound out that Bloo had Degenerative Joint Disease and was predispositioned totearing both his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament-located in the knee) and needed very expensive surgery! He received one kneesurgery in Provo that cost me a pretty $2700 – and the surgery did not work!! Istill could not give up on him so I gathered up my savings and flew him toFlorida to see a Orthopedic specialist where he got yet another surgery tore-do the botched one…at a whopping cost of $3200 (not including travelexpenses). Today, 5 months later,Bloo is in desperate and urgent need to get his other knee done as he canbarely get around anymore. We went to the vet today and she said that Bloo’scondition is getting very bad and he will soon have to be euthanized if hecannot get the surgery. Today he could barely get off his bed to go outside todo his business L. Day by day his condition is getting worse.His surgery is quoted at$3,900 here in Canada (where we are at the moment) and after spending over$6,000 on his previous surgeries (and my life savings on my flight training) Icannot afford to pay for the entire cost of this surgery and feel desperate andfrantic on not having control over his wellbeing! Bloo is my family and I lovehim to pieces, he has the sweetest soul and I cannot bear to even think abouteuthanizing him because his body is failing him. So here it goes….
